There are adjustments stops. You can mess with them till it flushes. It will eventually fit

You could try to shim up the quarter panel with some thin body washers.

What about a different issue, that the trunk lid doesn't pop up enough to easily open it. Is that just my Z, or do others have this problem?

I had the same problem. Then someone said to spray WD40 on/in the lock mechanism and bingo...has worked correctly ever since

I had the same problem. Take out the rear tail light with a #15 torx, loosen the latch bolts (the latch can then be adjusted and the bolts retightened). No tricks of the trade, a very simple 10 minute job.

That was an easy fix. I seem to pull one side of the rubber up every time I lift my golf bag out of the trunk.

Same problem here. Went to c5trunkpopper.com. Ordered and it was quickly shipped. 2 min. install. Works great. No more complaining from wife about breaking a nail opening the trunk.

I decided to try Yello95's suggestion with the WD40 before ordering the popper, and that seemed to work. Probably doesn't pop it up as much as a spring would, but it releases enough to get my fingers in.

Try applying more WD-40, it took me about 3 applications over a week to get it lubed correctly.

Interesting. I did it twice, right after each other, same night...and did notice an improvement. I hesitate using too much because that stuff eventually gets gunked up since it holds dust....but I'll give it a shot. Thanks.
