There are plenty of choices out there depending on what you are trying to achieve. They all are supposed to be better in performance than the factory system, however some are much better than others. There are some that are a little flashier, maybe chrome or painted, but they seem to be the ones whose performance is not at the top of the heap. A couple that are supposed to be tops in the hp dept. are the Vararam and the Callaway Honker. The Vararam is one of the harder units to install and even people who have them admit the quality and fit is not the best but can be made to work. I personally am partial to the Honker. It gives one of the highest hp increases, is easy to install (relatively speaking), and the quality and appearance are as good as OEM. The price may be a little higher than most intakes, but not once you factor in also replacing the air bridge along with air intake components. The Callaway replaces the intake all in one piece and relocates the MAF sensor as GM also did on the C6. The Honker is also a 50-states legal replacement. Once installed is also the easiest as far maintenance of the air filter is concerned.
