Initial feelings, the Pilots are quieter, stick the road very well once warmed up and corner quite well.

Tire are the most important performance component in any car. You will be happy with the Mich. Pilots. I, personally, can't see paying what it costs to maintain a Z06 and using Firestone's to keep the cost a little lower. Z06 is about performance (afterall, you have sacrificed the targa roof and the convertible top).
