I don't know about the '02 changers. My '99 changer was not designed to play mp3 files and wav files as it will not read an operating system. It was designed to play normally formatted CDA disks or audio disks. You can created CDA disks from your home computer and run those, but not mp3/wav disks....at least on my '99.

System may not support MP3s. But you can convert the MP3's to AIFF and burn those to a disc. AIFF is native music CD format. Your limit on a 700MB CD is about 16 songs. For example a 6MB MP3 will convert to a 60MB AIFF file.

If you have iTunes the process of burning to a CD does this automatically for you.

Native CD format is .wav files. However, they need to be burned with the appropriate header for the system to read them. I don't think you can just copy .wav files to a CD and have them work.

The stock CD players won't recognize .mp3s. The audiophile in me says you shouldn't use them anyway.
