Just purchased my 02 Z06. Only came with 1 key and Fob. I see on ebay where I can purchase 2 fobs and program myself. Is this legit and will it work? Thanks!
From: Mobile,Alabama When someone tells me they've always wanted a Corvette,I say...GETUONE.
I bought a 2002 convertible that only had one key and the #1 fob.I took my key to a local Chevrolet dealer, had them read the code and then ordered a key and the #2 fob from Corvette Central.I found a locksmith that cut the key for two dollars. The dealer wanted a hundred and ten dollars to cut the key and "program"it.There's nothing to program, you just need to know the code value of the key.You can program the fob yourself through the DIC on the car.The instructions are in the owners manual.Just order the fob that you need, you don't have to buy both.

Oops! I just remembered I ordered that key and fob from Ecklers,Corvette Central has the fob but not the key.:o
97-99 Cheap and easy to find.
2000 Hard to find and expensive as you can see why.
01-04 Cheap and easy to find.
You got two out of three. 97-99 aren't cheap and are getting rare. 01-04 you can find two for under $20 if you need both. As stated, just buy one and program it to your car through the DIC. You'll have to do your old one again, but it only takes a few seconds. You can also buy a key (with the right resistor code) and have it cut locally.
Your looking at the starting bid on the older fobs. Wait till you see what it brings. Doesn't matter though, he doesn't need the older one. He needs the cheap one.
As long as the FCC # is Model/FCC # AB00216T, it'll work on a '00. I
'd be surprised if you get that one on EBay for under $60 or $70 when the bidding is done. Just bought one where the bidding started at $30 but ended at $76 by the time I got it in my hot little hand. But since you need the newer one, they are on EBay all the time for under $20. Program it yourself just like the instructions in your owner's manual says.
both worked fine. I bought one, aftermarket, without a number on the back and it works fine but decided I wanted the originals so I bought the number 2 that I was missing.
There is a fellow on ebay from New Jersey that sells 2 FOBs for 01 - 04 cars. $27.00 buy now. Great guy to work with and ships quick. I odered them and programed both in less then 30 seconds. Get them from him, their good.
Seller was remoteoutlet.

They were trying to screw you. I bought a key cut and ready to go from my dealership for about $27. Bough a FOB off ebay for cheap and programmed it myself.
