Thanks for the info on the easy of lowering a C5. I have checked mine and it has exactly 2 thread left on the bolts, So it has been lowered. Great Forum and info found here.
My next question now, Does this require shocks to be replaced after lowering in this form? Is why I'm asking is the car seems to skip when I hit a bump on the corners, and she rides stiffer than others I test drove. I,m thinking by lowering it this way aren't the shocks being compressed and loosing travel???
When mine was really low, it had the ride of a Jeep Wrangler over bumps. If I hit a dip in the road, it would almost throw me out of my seat! I since raised it back up a little bit. The car was just way too low for our lovely Pa roads and parking lots.

I'm sneaking my 98 down too. I'd like it a little lower and will work on it some more.
Brings up a question. Where can I get some longer bolts for the rear, the fronts can go a little lower but the rear is as far as the stock bolts will go. Thanks.
Hmmmmm. I remember seeing a great link to a short, sweet and to the point "how to" for lowering a C5 on the Forum. I remember seeing the bushiings in the front that you can cut or remove, but don't remember seeing rear bushing that you can cut. I thing I'd like the simpler, longer bolts.
What's the deal with the rear bushings? Remover them, hold them in a vise and cut them thinner and reinstall?
I lowered my 01 coupe this past friday. I went all the way down on the front bolts and down to two threads in the back. I drove it down a rough road to settle the suspension. When I got back home it was about an inch lower. I have since driven several hundred miles and I think it is even lower. My front air dam scrapes on almost every bump. I think it is about half an inch off the ground. I'm seriously thinking of cutting it the air dam. I love the way the car looks though.
I used the rear kit and lowerd the entire car to where the fenders are even with the tops of the tires. The ride can be bumpy but it looks great and with fat mamma frame savers, and rocker protectors from Nasty98 it still clears speed bumps at an angle

Bad idea, the airdam directs moving air over the radiator. You will definatly overheat on the highway with no air dam.
As for the rear bushings, I just removed the rear bolts and cut the bushings in half with a hack saw. the bushings are noched which makes them real easy to cut. Its pretty much self explanatory once you remove the rear bolts.
