I’m pretty sure that it was oil starvation. I have the T1 suspension and wide Toyo race tires. I did NOT over fill the oil. No change in the redline. It could have been happening over time but I did not notice any drop in oil pressure. So, I am starting to bring my 2001 Z back to life. The car had brand new AFR heads, a cam, and headers. I decided to put together something that is bullet proof and use what I could off the old block. Since the problem was a bearing, an Accusump will be installed.
Now for the block. I wanted the engine to have a forged crank. After some reading the CF and talking to other racers, it became obvious that a stroker was the not much more than a stock block with a forged crank. I decided to get a LS2 402 stroker short block from Texas Speed. My AFT heads and Thunder cam will bolt up so the power will be more than sufficient.
