Default Modded owners, would you do it all again..My problem.....

Having gone the full gammet with my Z, i am in a quandry...Love the car, but, would love to buy a new C6 and start all over again...But, you get squat $$ for a modded car...And, i don't need two vettes...I think the procedure of researching the mods, picking the right ones, talking to others, is a big part of the addiction, yes addiction....Would you guys do it all again? Knowing the resale is hindered rather then helped...And face it, we will all at some time sell them.....

Yea...I would do it again, but instead of spending lots of $$$ for all the bolt ons, it would have been less $$$ to just put on a procharger and end up with more power. As for as resale, I think if you have all the documentation and parts are professionally installed, some of the $$$ spent on mods (a small portion) you will get back if the buyer wants to purchase a modded Vette ready to go and not have to hassle with doing the work.

For me, it's all about fun factor (mine's a street car) and to be honest...bragging rights. A stock Z06 has plenty of power in its stock form.

thats one reason i haven't --had plenty of modded in the past...my 01 is relatively stock.exhaust and z16 wheels...i b happy ..if i wanted more i would buy a new Z..it all comes down to resale vs happiness vs money!!!!..money is still an object of importance with me

Hate to sound contrary, but all the mods to make it faster and then drive on the street?

Hope you fellas don't take this the wrong way, but why endanger yourselves? C5 and C6 Z 06's are among the fastest cars on the street right out of the box. My 07 is much more immediate than even the 997 Twin Turbo I dumped a few weeks back. These cars don't need to be any faster, they are fast!

At least for some it may be more fun to spend some of the mod money on track time. Road courses are great fun. To me the sensation is like the worlds most realistic video game. Plus you can do things you would not dream of on the street and not worry about pedestrians, the law etc...

I heavily modded an EVO a year ago and had an extremely fast car, but nowhere to use it. Lost virtually all the value n trade.

YMMV. Please don't flame me, I'm just trying to help.

Yes... I'd do it all over again... modding is a hobby and is all about making your car your own.

However... I don't give a **** about resale. This is my first Corvette.... I'm keeping this one.

Modding is it's own reward. If I could afford a new Z, I'd still end up wanting to mod it, because it's not uniquely "mine", until it's no longer stock. I've managed to do all the modifications myself, and though a challenge, the process is very fun, and informative.

I love modding my car! It makes the car individual, perform better, more fun to drive, and some of my mods are even durability/longevity mods...

It's a daily driver that gets flogged on the street and also taken to every track event I can dig up in the area. While I can't use all of the cars speed during the week, it definately sees it during the weekend!

I would do it all over again...no problem. My Z has my touches to it making it unique. If I didn't want to be unique, I could have gotten a Toyota. Heck, I am doing the same type of stuff to my 86 Monte Carlo SS. Won't get what I want from either car, but then again, not looking at selling either right now. I say...enjoy your car...how ever you want!

The Z should have come from the factory with bolt ons.

I love the sound of the headers and the performance of the tune.

Yes, I would do it again.

No regrets about modding my Z. I agree modding is an addiction, but I'm having a great time doing it.

IMO, it doesnt matter what car you own, the cars are only part of the addiction (unless you race on roadcourse). The brotherhood of car enthusiasts is what makes it so much fun. To think, for example, that via the internet there are hundreds of guys and girls out there connected to you who have either been there, are going through the same thing, or need your advice is epic. not only that, but with vette owners, ive experienced a kinship i never got from the import scene, i mean just the other day a member here PMed me his phone number so he could walk me through the process of bleeding my clutch. and the local vette owners are holding a mod party for me to help me get my coupe back up to speed. but back to your question, If you really have a burning desire for a C6 and have the money to front for one + mods then go for it. or just keep your C5 and be happy with all the progress you've made. you already have a stupid fast car. do me a favor, if you DO get a C6.. make your plates read "MYNZBGR"

^ What's up man Yeah... one of the best parts of owning a Corvette is the brotherhood/comradery of it all. I never got that w/ my Mustang.
