Black Smoke!
Let me start by saying I have an 01 coupe and have never had an oil consumption problem. I have 22K on it. Today I stepped on it from a stop pretty hard an noticed black smoke coming from the exhaust for about a second or two.
Just checked the oil and it is full.
Is this normal or should I be concerned. The car runs great. I'm thinking maybe just a little carbon burn off???

Either carbon build up or leaky injectors causing unburnt fuel in the exhaust. More than likely carbon if the car runs good.

Seafoam it or use GM Top Engine Cleaner. You have carbon built up in the cylinder heads.

As stated above, Seafoam in the brake booster vac will help get rid of the carbon. As for the leaky injectors....they will have to be relpaced or rebuilt.
