On my way to work tonite in a thunderstorm and my all of a sudden it smells like burnt hair, my fan starts screaching and then dies. It only works right now on setting number 5 and it is screaching badly. Last week my driver side seat decides to not be a power seat any more (makes noise but does not move) and the week before my oil sender goes out. My extended warranty expired in January when I went over 100,000 miles. So now that my whining is done, how hard is it to get to the fan to replace it? (I need defrost and pretty soon a/c). Any suggestions for the fan and/or the seat? Any hints or tips? I live near Louisville, Kentucky and don't want to take it to a dealer (Had bad juju with the place I bought it from) I'm replacing the sender this weekend. Thanks in advance, Guy
The fan is fairly easy to remove. Just drop passenger side panel under the dash. Then remove 3 bolts, a rubber hose, and electrical connector and pull out the fan. I did mine about 3 weeks ago because of mouse that got in it while parked at friend's place. Good luck
