Default SS Inserts--Black letters

I recently installed Black Cherry Halo's on my silver vert, black top. I posted a thread asking what would be better, SS Inserts, or cheaper acrylic black letters. Most people thought Black. I contacted the guy at SS Inserts, he says they will have Black mirror steel inserts available next week, but they will cost $103.95/set. Does anyone think the extra $40 is worth going to black letters?

I would want to see pics of them first but it sounds like they would look like black chrome. If they do then I think it would be worth it.

The SS Inserts I have look great, the black ones would look far better than the acrylic and would be worth the extra money IMO.

Black mirror steel letter inserts would look much nicer than the acrylic letters IMO and would be worth the extra $40.

Absolutely! I am in. I will get a set as soon as available. So glad I waited before buying the cheap ones. My wish is answered as stainless steel seems washed out on a spiral gray.

Just so everyone understands, they are $40 more than the Stainless letters that they sell, they are $75 or so more than the black acrylic. I could find the black acrylic for around $30, the SS silver inserts are $64, but the Black stainless are $103.95. It is worth it to me too, if I would have bought the cheap ones, I would've ended up taking them off and putting the good ones on. I will keep everyone posted as to the availability of the new black letters.

Black ones would look awesome against silver! My regular SS inserts have been great for 3 years or so

I think spending the extra $$ would be worth it.

Just purchased a set of SS Inserts and have been researching where to get them black-chrome plated prior to installation. I would buy a set if available and sell the regular SS sets I just purchased.

I have vinyl airbag cover, steering wheel and rear bumper lettering. The problem I have found is the adhesive is very weak. Though it was not stated in the instructions (I didn’t receive) I was told to go over them with a hair dryer to get them to bond better. I would hope these SS letters have a good enough adhesive backing that they will stay put! I don’t imagine this manufacture will be selling individual letters if one goes south.

Mine haven't moved since I put them on. They are held in place with double sided tape and you prep the area with an adhesive promoter. Use a q-tip and not the little pads they give you (ask me how I know ). I swear that the paint will come off before the adhesive lets go.

I received an email from SS Inserts today that a limited supply of Black Chrome inserts were due in today for the C5. I ordered a set for both the front and rear at $104/set.
