My question is: the first comment in the C5 section about the first 200 C5s being red. I'm pretty sure there were some sub 200 VIN 97s that were other colors here on the forum...true/false?
While the 427 was developed first, the 396 went into the Corvette, Chevrolet, and Chevelle in 1965 due to a GM policy restricting them to less than 400 cubic inches.
72 had chrome front and rear, 73 had a chrome rear bumper and urethane front, 74 had the 1st rear urethane bumper (this year rear was unique as it has a seam down the middle).

I remember reading (quite awhile ago) that as a mule a '62 was fitted with a 409 and was being considered as an option. I forget why it was dropped. Man would that be a rare car.
