This may sound strange, but has anyone seen where they get a mist of water? Liquid on their windshield under a hard acceleration?
I keep my Vette in the garage so I am pretty sure it isnt water from under the hood. Any ideas? Do I have a leak somewhere? Do I need a Catch Can?
Any help?
Thats normal especially for a garage car its actually water that hasnt evaporated when you last washed it. The water sits near the windshield wipers in the plastic casing and when you go fast the water spills out and the wind kicks in up on thewindshield. The catch can is for oil in your intake, now if your getting oil on your windshield thats awhole other story..........
your car is tearing up with joy that you're using it properly.
Actually the water is coming from your winshield resevoir, if i remember correctly. Try to run a little less water in the tank, see if that helps.
I think GM finally issued a TSB that identified a check valve you could iinstall to prevent it, or as was mentioned, do not top off your washer fluid - keep it less than 3/4 full.
It doesnt seem to be Oil. It evaporates. Maybe it is just the Washer Fluid. I never use that, so its probably full....
Mine does it under hard acceleration on on-ramps where there is a sweeping right turn. Its not standing water from washing as the car hasn't been under a hose for over a year. I too thought the car was just pe-e-e-e-e-eing with joy on being able to open up a little.

The first time mine ever did it was when I grabbed 4th on the top end of my first run down the drag strip. I thought I had broken something for sure. Since then I just stopped filling to the top.
I have the same problem. I plan to tape off the top of the WW reservior and do a test. Although I am convinced that it is WW fluid, I have a hard time figuring out how it makes it way from the reservior to the windshield without leaving a trail between the two. I popped the hood a few times, found a little wetness around the lid of the reservoir but never see any water trailing up the hood towards the windshield. I was wondering if it is coming out of the sprayer on the wiperblade. I as plan to wrap plastic around the sprayer and go for a spirited ride.

Mine does the same thing when I want to hear my Vette Drs. headers and the Corsa Indys Figure like others have said that the washer fluid well is just overly full ?
Definitely washer fluid...mine does it all the time under hard accel. I havent bothered to fill the fluid in so long that now im getting a low washer fluid warning...LOL...apparently i should keep my foot out of it more....ahhhhhhhhhh, who am i kidding, windshield washer fluid is over rated anyway....
First time mine did this was wide open down the back striaght at about 130mph. I thought I broke something for sure. I almost got off the track, but all the guages checked out fine so I took one easy lap and kept going. After ward, I could find no trace of where it came from at all.
The wind velocity over the hood as it transitions to the windsheild is sufficient to create a vacuum effect on the WW squirters (is that the technical name?) and draw out whatever fluid is in the line. I can get mine to do it at about 80 in a hard right hander.

This thread is cracking me up. I had the same thing happen accelerating onto the freeway a few times when I first bought the car and probably posted the exact same question.
