Default Vararam install

Hey guys

Installed the vararam system today - but one question. I can't find anywhere to secure the air ducts on the indicator side of the air scoop (if that makes sense ? )

Took it out for a quick test run - combine that with the borla exhaust install that i did on friday and wow - noticeable difference !

There should have been a place for a screw, you may have to move the brake duct to see it.

Did you disconnect the battery to reset the computer and then take it for the "break-in" ride to recalibrate the air flow? If not, do it. It will feel even better, and you'll be less likely to throw a code.

yep - had the battery disconnected
Haven't done the proper bed in yet - probably will just do the 1/4 sprints down the road, don't have the time to drive 40 miles at a steady 60mph !

Don't be surprised if you start throwing codes or your check engine light comes on. You need to do that 50 mph drive so the computer can accumulate air flow data to do the calculations. Just going out and doing a bunch of sprints, especially at WOT will give you bad data and result in codes. Some guys that installed Vararams and didn't do the break-in have experienced that. If you do, disconnect the battery for 15 min., reconnect, and go out and do that 50 mph ride for 30 to 40 miles and that should straighten things out.

did my 50/60 mile run in
and wow again - what a difference

Not sure what was the better upgrade the borla or vararam but they sure do seem to be working well together

Significantly more torque/grunt/accelaration - particulary mid range.

Still haven't found where to bolt the indicator side of the scoops - but it's nice and tight. Next time it's on a ramp, I'll try and take alook for them

The borla is really loud - at 100mph + it's really too loud for the motorway runs - might have to look at getting sound proofing

Thanks again guys

And thats right where you'd expect a RamAir system to shine....

I installed mine WITH the battery still on...but the next day I left for a 200 mile road trip

Biggest PITA to install, the instructions sucked and we actually invented curse words when installing it..but ya know what.. the thing works.

Noticeable SOTP feel..and I can hear the thing suck up air after everytime I shift a gear with the window down.

I got a vararam, 160 degree thermostat and a tune.. From those all together I picked up 23 horsepower and 19 ft-lbs of torque at the rear wheels.

I have the Borla stingers as well with Vara Ram also.
I got tuned after each install due to doing them at different times.
The Vara Ram gave me more than the Borla did.
As far as the noise level......the drone is the loudest at right around 2k RPM, it's the only thing I don't like about them. However if you just get in another car and have someone else drive yours you will find that the car now sounds so BAD A$$ that you won't care!!
I am now at 380rwhp and love it but I am starting to get used to it so hopefully this summer more to come...........

Yep that 2k to 2.5k drone is the tone that just goes through you !
It does sound great though - went to client today at Silverstone Circuit (The UK's GP track) and despite testing going on at the time, the said they heard me coming from 1/3 mile away !
