Default Exhaust suggestions?

I have a stock C5 that I would like to add an exhaust to. I know this question gets asked a lot but I was hoping that someone could make a suggestion that can relate to my experience. I used to have a stock '94 Trans Am with a Flowmaster exhaust, I absolutely loved the exhaust on that car! It did have some resonance/drone right around 1900rpm but it didn't bother me at all. Anyone out there who had an LT1 with Flowmaster exhaust and liked the sound have any suggestions on which C5 exhausts I may like? I wouldn't want anything louder than the Flowmasters I had on my TA. I haven't had any opportunities yet to listen to any aftermarket exhausts in person, but was hoping someone could give me some ideas on which ones may fit my taste.

Do a search for some GHL Bullets. I am going with ARH w/ cats + the GHL Bullets. Definitely not the loudest, but it should give me a low rumble and a great overall tone.

The reason for me going with a medium noise level exhaust is because when I add a huge cam, I don't want it to be over the top.

I have done some threads on the Bullets, and people have posted clips for me, so do a search. Many people love the GHL exhausts systems for their good old school rumble and their "perfect" corvette tone!

I have B&B bullets, they are LOUD, but I like 'em. Not for the feint of heart.

Go to a Corvette gathering... ask questions, ask for a ride and sample as many exhausts as possible. Everyone will suggest a favorite exhaust but sound is subjective. Listen for yourself, compare, then settle for one you like.
Also fill out your profile someone in your area my be able to let you hear their exhaust in person.

However, with longtubes, they are louder than most, but great!

Thats exactly what I did. When a guy fired up his car with the Borla stingers on I fell in love, went home and I ordered them.

I had a 94Z28 LT1 (basically same car as transam) with flowmaster also. I would say if you got the BB Bullets, or the Borla Stingers according to my ears, that would be the closest to the flowmaster you had on the F-body.
I've had about 6 different exahust on my vette so I've got a good deal of experience

As the others said, safest bet is to go to a local vette gathering and listen in person.

One last thing, I assume you do not plan on adding Headers to your Vette? If you do, that will definitley make it louder for any cat-back.

Good luck

I just put on PRT B&B'S with a Bassani X pipe, great sound. Go on their web site and listen. I bought them from East Coast Corvettes $799 with shipping, best deal around. The other top names are going to cost you more for the same thing. Unless you want it real loud stay clear of the Bullets. The PRT's have a perfect in between sound.

GHL Bullets. - Great low rumble at idle, no drone, and gets your attention at WOT.
