Small problem. Quick question
Driving home tonight my car pop'd up change oil soon.
Problem i had a meeting in the morning i really wanted to take the car and a older co worker in it. He's been dying for a ride.
How many miles can i go before i'd run into any problems ?

look at the oil .. if oyu can see the hashing on the dip stick, drive it and get it changed like the message says, soon.
It's appearing because your oil life % being below i think it's 5%
i'd take the car personally .. i judge my oil change intervals based on mileage and how the oil looks, not solely the monitor ..
... but that's just me.

If you change the oil within the next 50 - 100 miles it isn't going to matter. It's not like the oil suddenly stops working and you're facing internal engine damage. Take the message literally "CHANGE OIL SOON" - doesn't say "CHANGE OIL IMMEDIATELY OR FACE SEVERE CONSEQUENCES!"
Take the guy for a ride and then get your oil changed.....

Don't worry, just change it as "soon" as you get the chance.

I believe the correct answer is as soon as you can within the next 500 miles

Not going to hurt to drive the car with that message showing - just ensure you change the oil soon.

Just turn on the key but DO NOT START the engine.
Pump the gas pedal to the floor 3 times, not too fast. This does not flood the engine.
Turn key off then on and start the engine and you should have reset the reminder. The light should be out.
Change oil ASAP and do the above RESET again.

I'd drive it, the message says change oil SOON. its not going to hurt anything if you wait some more miles. But I'd change it the first chance I get after that. Hope your coworker likes the ride.
