Default How sweet the sound

I know it's been answered a hundred times but I am looking for a sweet sounding exhaust when I punch the go pedal but also one that keeps the Vette quiet when I don't, or when I am cruising, or when Mr Officer is behind me! Oh Yeah - I don't have a huge budget

Suggestions?

Magnaflow Performance Exhaust, Borla Performance Series, B&B Route 66 or Corsa Touring. Find a good used set and save hundreds.

I have a nice used Borla Performance Series system if you are interested. I currently have the Magnaflow Performance Exhaust on my '99. Both sound similar.

I went with the Grannatelli's. Cost me $500 and I got quad stainless 4 inch tips. The sound is as deep if not deeper than the Borla's at idle and almost as loud as the B&B Bullets at WOT but the best part is I have no...repeat...no drone at cruise. You can buy into that $900 or so crap/corvette tax if you want to. But I wouldn't have any other exhaust out there for the money. I originally ordered the Borla quad stingers but after hearing a forum members B&B Bullets I thought I wanted those and when I went to change the order there were a few guys there that had a lot of different systems and that's how I learned about these...and yes they are T-304 stainless steel with a lifetime guarantee just like the others. The only difference is that the pipes and mufflers aren't mirror polished from the factory but you can't see those parts anyway just those big shiny tips. Oh yeah...flamesuit on.

I think that you would like the Corsa Pace Car exhaust, quiet at idle and cruise, and they scream at WOT. You could look in the for sale section for a used set in good condition. Good Luck!

I listened to the Corsa Pace sound and it was impressive, but it seemed to me that it sounded a little high pitched.

Any thoughts about that?

Thanks,

Jim

its a matter of opinion, to me they are a little high pitched some think they are perfect. I personally like the B&B Bullets and Borla Stingers.

The best way to find the exhaust that is right for you is to listen to some vettes with different exhausts.

See if there is a Corvette Club in your area and talk with the owners.

I have the Borla and I am very happy with the sound at wot and at cruise it is not an issue. A little louder than stock at idle.

Cant help on the budget. The sound on these systems is very hard to to explain and we all like something different. Get a Mid America catalog or call them 800-500-1500 On the current catalog 07UKH-66L Page 116 they have a Exhaust Rating Chart. I have the Borla Stinger and based on that the chart is dead on.
