Typically we put catback systems on them not just mufflers. There are a lot of choices available Corsa, Borla, GHL to name a few. They come with various styles of tips for your viewing pleasure. All of these will be louder than stock. If you're just trying to replace the stock system with another one, then that's exactly what you want to do. In fact, I have a set gathering dust that I'd let you have for the price of shipping them out to you.
Hey "kidcid"..... thanks for the offer to take the catback exhaust/muffler system off your hands, shoot me an email at churchy77@hotmail.com and we can make the arrangements.....so it would make the vette sound alot better than stock mufflers im guessing...right???

He offered another stock system, so it would sound the same. It looks like it might be the chrome tips, though.
BanditDude has it exactly right. I'm just offering up the stock system that I took off my car when I replaced it with a Corsa catback. They look exactly like the photo but a little cleaner (they only have about 700 miles on them). They won't change the sound at all.

He carries the GHL line of exhausts and has video clips of a bunch of different exhausts there for you to check out.
ok, i understand now...thanks for the offer tho.....so can we just change the mufflers on the existing system or do we have to change the whole system?????
can we just cut and weld new mufflers, what do you all recommend??????
just want to give it a deeper/louder/throatier sound...not interested in the increased HP or performance at this point....so whats the best way to go to just "kick it up" a notch in the sound dept????
Basically want best sound for lowest cost (just rebuilt tranny and new tires and brakes all the way around $$$$)
Well, to interject an option here you can always look into the "AnA mod"
Basically taking the muffler section off and welding in a pipe to have one of the tips bypass the muffler. I did this on my 2000 mn6 and it sounds SO much better than stock, but nothing annoying and no drone at all.
All for free, since I had a buddy with a welder.
If all your looking is for a slightly deeper tone and more sound, this is definetly one to try before buying anything. Try it and see if you like it, if not you can always replace it by someone getting rid of a stock system and be just like it was, or buy aftermarket.
Good luck

When it is time to replace or you just want something new, typically the pipe and muffler assembly from just before the rear axle to the back of the car is replaced. Lots of choices, including going with another stock system.

What size pipe did you use to bypass the muffler?
