Just curious....why is this needed?/ Does lubricating not work for some cars?? Everytime my trunk begins to not pop up all the way, a quick shot of WD-40 into the mechanism returns it to proper operation and popping height.
I hit it with a little graphite and it pops up fine.
I just took my 2002 vert out of storage and put on the two easiest ( can you call these mods?), the Window Valet and the trunk popper. next are the tail light seals, rear leds and a catch can , I know these are the basic in additions, but I am starting real small.
Seems to me everyone I know started small ($$wise) and then moved on up. It's an addiction ... involve the wife if you can. Things will go better.
The trunk popper works great, a while back I asked for advice on the trunk lid opening. It worked great when opening from the dash, but the key fob would not pop the lid enough. Some forum members attributed it to the air pressure inside the car popping the trunk lid open versus getting out of the car and usining the key fob. I tried it with several combinations and the lid would still not open adequatly with the fob.
Anyway, the trunk popper works great from the dash or the fob.
I must get one of the trunk poppers. Even with constant adjustment mine goes out of kilter every so often.
I dont understand why so many folks have a problem with the trunk lids and need these trunk popper. There is a much simpler way and if my trunk does not open completely I just simply close the door with the windows up and the vacuum created inside the cars forces the trunk lid open. Just my .02 cents.

What if you don't want to put the top and windows up?

Never seem to have that problem since my trunk still opens just fine. Now I guess if it didnt open it doesnt take a lot of effort to stick the edge of my finger at the corner of the trunk lid and open the deck lid. I guess to each their own, but since this has never been a problem I have saved myself a whopping $17. Not even enough to put 5 gallons of gas in the car these days.
