Default HID conversion for C5?

Hey Guys,

I was wondering if any of you out there have had any experience of this system sold on E-Bay?

I'm looking to upgrade my lighting to HID and would value your opinions on this. It looks to be a good system and at a good price but sometimes you just can't tell!

Thanks in advance .

IMO i would avoid all ebay auctions that charge outragous shipping costs. If you get hosed in the deal they will only refund the purchase price, not the shipping. (even using a credit card company may not help you in this case)

who cares about the shipping cost of the overall cost is so cheap?

would paying $140 for the kit and $5 for the shipping make you feel better?

My point is that the integrity of the buyer is reflected in the large shipping costs. If they're charging $10 for the product and $50 for shipping (when it actually costs about $15) it puts a negative mark next to them in my book because it says we're already lying to you about shipping....we're probably lying to you about the quality of our product...(or maybe the $10 is an actualy representation of the quality value of the product)

I also try to stay away from international orders whenever possible because if somthing goew wrong, a huge chunk of the refund money is eaten up by customs charges.

That guy has over 12000+ and not a single - for selling his accessories.

I just bought the low beam and fog kit from him. It arrived in 2 days; kit appears to be good quality. I just have not had time to install yet.

I bought the kit and installed it in my 2001 A4. It was very easy to install and has worked great. I went with the Diamond white light. Its a little blueish but overall very bright. I have had it installed for a month now. I have not been flashed by other drivers. The guy is very helpful if you have questions and very responsive. I am not affiliated with the vendor at all. The same kit is selling under different names for $300 plus. I am thinking of buying for fog lights too.

Large shipping costs are generally just sellers attempting to recover paypal and Ebay fee's which can cost a seller 10-30% of the final sale price and even more on lower priced items. I personally always add $5-15 "handling fee" on top of the shipping cost to try and offset those costs.

I agree, the shipping cost is a bit inflated but the guy's trying to make a little money where he can. It's not like he's the only one doing it and I'm sure there are tons of vendors selling that exact kit all over for a similar price.

For $145, though, I'm about half tempted to give it a try. Not too much to lose. Of course, I'd like to see someone ELSE on here do it first...

Default Thanks for all the feedback...

It looks like it might be a good deal despite the high shipping charges but WAY cheaper than retail price!

When I get them I'll be sure to post pics!

Thanks Guys, all the advice is much appreciated.

Try a search for "xenon HID 9006" and you will find a vendor out there that sells them for $129 and free shipping in continental US.

I think I bought that same or really similar kit for $130 off ebay a few months ago. The ballasts in the pic look the same. They work, but not perfectly in the vette's pop ups. I had trouble with the lights no going down on shut off. I guessed that it was a voltage issue, due to this kit doesn not have a relay/igniter in-line in the wiring harness from the bulb back to the ballast. You could get around this by doing a little extra wiring using a 12V relay etc. Search for the diagram.
What I did was substitute one of the ballasts for the ballast of another extra HID kit that I had off another car that I had HID's in. That ballast had the inline relay. Now, things work fine!

Hope this helps.

Not bashing you or anything, but some sellers do that to avoid the ebay fees, first ebay charge you a listing fee, then they charge different precentages depending on the final value price. I'm a seller on fleabay and somehow I kinda understand where they are coming from not that I condone what some sellers are charging for shipping. Hate to say it but like here on the forum, there are great, good and bad sellers. Just my .02

I've bought four different sets on ebay for different cars. The last ones I got were 110 shipped from 'lighting623'. but you always take a chance on the ebay. Yes I have installed a set on my vet. With stock lenses the biggest difference I notice it that signs and marking are much more reflective making it easier to see.
