Plexiglass roof cracking help please
The plexiglass roof panel on my 97 c5 is cracking. Just the top layer seems to be cracked and the crack is getting longer all the time. Is there anyway I stop further cracking or do I have to buy a new panel. As I am retired I really hate to spend the money for a new one. The car only came with one top so puting on the painted one is not an option for me.

I don't know of any way to fix them - replace seems to be your only option. You can buy new from GM (call Gene at gmpartshouse), you can buy used (check out c5 parts section) or I believe there are other vendors that make new non GM ones (google).

I had the same issue with my C4 years ago. No way to repair them.
There is a rebuild/exchange service through either Mid America or Ecklers. I went that direction and it worked very well.

if i knew where you were from i could recommend a place in cincinnati
or go with astro tops they are guarenteed not to craze like all the gm ones do,its pretty sad that chevy never fixed this problem especially on the vette,fyi fill in in your profile it might help you out in some situations,good luck
