How are ya'lls interiors holding up? Alot of Z06s I'm seeing have 30-40thousand miles. I dont think it'd be worth it to spend an extra 2 or 3 grand to get less miles but end up having a rattle box anyways.
I already know these dont have the greatest looking interiors, but I'm only concerned about the dash rattling. The leather wear is no biggie because I'm getting ECS covers/inserts anyways

FRom what I have seen, the Z are extremly solid. I have ridden in 3 ZO6's and none of them rattled. Mine has about 10,000 miles. The other 2, I know had a decent amount more.. Maybe 20-30 thou.
my dash doesn't rattle at all, but there's an annoying rattle coming from my passenger door (like in the speaker area), and also i think the seats rattle a bit
at WOT i also get a rattle from what sounds like my license plate vibrating, but don't know if that's what making the noise
My 02 Z06 has 20,600 mi and no rattles. Interior is holding up pretty well other than a small 1" by 0.25" strip of dry/wrinkled leather on the dash.
I bought mine november 2006 with 13,600 mi and wanted to get the lowest miles possible. I figured less miles less race time on my car and less wear on engine, trans, etc...the least of my concerns was the dash rattling.
No rattles or anything (chassis is still rock solid) - this is my 2nd C5, and the main wear points on the interiors is the poor leather on the seats (I'm currently running aftermarket). I've got 30K on my Z06 so far.
The switch gear, vinyl, dash, etc., all seem to stay pretty nice!
Mine has 114,500 with NO squeeks or rattles. The ONLY indication of age at all is the seat bottoms have deeper lines than they should, but still no cracks. It's in the best condition of any high mileage car I have ever seen. Definitely a plus for these cars.
I have 50k and no rattles at all,yes the interior is pretty bland but so far no cracks or creeks.I am very satisfied with quality of car, could use better leather on seats.
The C5 is a solid platform and neither my 97 or my 03Z ever had/have a rattle in the dash and I used both cars very hard. Quite a few autocrosses on bumpy go kart tracks plus quite a number of HPDEs plus hard highway driving. The C4s used to have dash rattles and squeaks due to how much the chassis flexed but the C5 solved all of those problems.
I'm just not as lucky as others, my console bezel started rattling at about 20k miles - I replaced the bezel with a carbon fiber setup and it fixed the rattle and looks unique.
I've got 63k miles on it now and for about the last 10k miles my steering column started to rattle sometimes. If I adjust the tilt all the way up then down and press on the plastic piece above the steering column I can get rid of the rattle temporarily. The good news is these cars are easy to work on and one of these weekends I'll drop the column and see if I can find the rattle.
Overall the car is tight and the effort required to keep the rattles to a tolerable minimum is far outweighed by how fun these cars are to drive.
I have had a lot of vettes including many C3's and C4's and now currently a C5 Z06 and a 89 vert. The 89 vert rattles like you wouldn't believe, as did every C3 and C4 I owned in the past. Now one rattle from my Z, yet...

I had a 81.....too many rattles.
I had a 89.....a couple livable rattles.
I had a 94 Vert.......actually almost no rattles..
I have a 02Z........No rattles.
My C4 didn't rattle until it got to about 50K miles. Then it never shut up after that. My 02 Z06 has almost 40K on it now and there is not 1 rattle in it. The only part that is annoying is the little plastic filler piece that goes behind the door panel. One broke the plastic clips and popped out before the car had 20K on it. About a $4 part.
I don't think I would have noticed any rattles if not asked. Now I obsess about any little noise. Thanks alot! Think I'll have to get some Borla stingers so all I hear is the thunder of the exhaust!

what are you comparing the interiors to? I think they have a very functional interior and if you compare it to sports cars of the same era, they are one of the better ones.
I don't know what kind of Z06s you're looking at or driving but my '04 has not a single rattle that I know of and I know my rattles. The car is solid as a rock. I drove an '02 before I bought mine and it had higher miles and that too was solid.
I have one rattle at 40k now. I know where its coming from. I just always forget to check when I have the center bezel off. Its just one of those screw clips that isn't tight. Easy fix
