I'm not the most computer savy guy so please bear with me, heres the deal...
I bought my wife an Ipod for Christmas, she loves it so much she made me go buy one for myself, so I did but the problem is I dont know how to separate Itunes on our PC into 2 different music libraries, we really dont listen to the same stuff so I really need to isloate the two music collections. I sthis possible? If so how? TIA.
Here is the way I did it. First I got an external hard drive just for songs...i think it makes it easier to manage, and it protects your songs. I put all of our songs (My wife and I) on the external. I deleted everything from the itunes playlist to start fresh.
I created two user accounts for the computer (one for me, one for my wife...separate passwords). You can do this by going under My computer-Control panel. When I'm logged in, I pull my songs from the external then put them in my itunes library....plug in my ipod...upload done. Wife does the same thing under her user account.
So basically what separates it would be the two different accounts. I dont have an external hard drive so I guess just having two different folders associated with the Ipod set upo should be fine...right? Thanks man.
Good luck to you, I dont know why but it was one of the most difficult things ive EVER had to figure out how to use, and Im fairly decent on a computer......
I just got my ipod last month, And had my brother on the phone for over an hour to help me.....Not a fan of "itunes".
I did get it figured out and now its a breeze......
I've had an IPod for a couple of years now and hated every minute spent with ITunes about a year ago I found a plugin for WinAmp that enabled the use of a IPod. It works fantastic and downloads the music much faster it also enables you to transfer music from the IPod to another computer which isn't easy with ITunes.
