I get a squeak when I drive over bumps or dips in the road from front end. heard it may be control arm bushings. anything else out there that may cause this, before I take it to the stealership and get raped with my clothes on (99c-5 29,000 miles)
It's most likely the bushings....a very easy fix....do it yourself. The bushings are held on by 2 bolts. Just remove the bolts and lube the rubber bushings. That should fix your problem. No need to get screwed by the dealer, this is an easy one.
dude. i just came back from a goodyear shop to get that fix. he said it was a shock boot. all he did was turn it and it was gone! n he did it for free!
I bought the polyurethane bushings from Ecklers a couple of years back and it solved my problem. I had replaced my sway bars with the Z06 bars and couldn't solve the squeaking until that time. I tried every lube on the market!

vvets c5 ,is it very hard can you explain, how to do it please. do you need a press to get old ones out? new ones in? thank you
i had the same problem and this past weekend I lubed up the shock upper bushings and the sqeak went away...if it does come back, i'll try lubing up the sway bar bushings. thanks for all the advice from all the other folks.
I have the same problem the local garage said it was the bushings for the upper and lower control arms! They also said I would need a front end alignment when they got done with the repair. I would do it on my own but is it true or not that the alignment needs to be done?
