Anyone know the thread size for the Z06 shifter and a Camaro M6 shifter? I just installed a ripper shifter and wanted to use this aluminum ball I had from my camaro....I guess I just figured the threads would be the same....they are not. Need to see if I can find a heli-coil or thread insert to convert it over so I don't have to pay the corvette tax and pay extra for one. My other option is to epoxy the hole and redrill and tap i guess. Thanks in advance.
The C5/Z06 shifter ***** are 9/16-18"...I don't know about the Camaro, but it's possibly metric?
A 9/16-18" hole is pretty large. Is the Camaro **** larger than that? If it's smaller, you wouldn't need to fill and re-drill, just find the appropriate drill bit and bottom tap to the 9/16-18" Read this recent discussion for some ideas. http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show....php?t=1682567

Thanks for the link...I'll take a look at it. The Camaro one is larger still than the Corvette one. I'd say something in the 11/16" range. Assuming they had sent me the correct ****, I've never even used it on the Camaro, which is why I was going to use it here. I would have thought Chevy would have had a standard shift **** thread size, but I guess I should have known better...

Reason: can't spell
Nope, no such luck...over the years, GM has used numerous SAE and METRIC thread sizes on their shift *****. In the "old days", everything was pretty much 3/8-16".
