Default When you start your vette....
When you start your vette are you supposed to wait for the needles on the gauges to come back down or not???? and why do the gauges do that ?????

Nope! All power is channeled to the starter for the most amps avail. Just go ahead & start. The gauges cycle like that as part of the intial power-up.

It is just to add to the "cool" factor of the car although my GF's Grand Prix does it too.

The cycling of the guages when you first turn the ignition switch on is what is known in the electronics world as "POST" which stands for Power On, Self Test.
