My B&M felt real notchy when I first installed it. I don't think it got any better with time but I know once I got use to it there was simply no turning back. Give it some time, I'm sure you'll get use to the way it feels.

I felt the same way when i first install my shifter. Now i wouldnt want it any other way. I test drove a new z06 over the weekend and hated the way the shifter felt. I will admit the new z06 shifter is ten times better than the c5z factory shifter though.

give it some time to get use to it... you will love it.

Had one on my 1999 Z28 and loved it once I had gotten used to it.

Yea, it's an acquired taste, but since I've had mine, I haven't missed a shift. You'll eventually like the short throw, narrow gate, and positive feel. I love mine! (my wife hates it and we took it to Florida and shared driving duties). Zuti

Which was smoother, poly or rubber?
I have the sport shifter not yet installed, but this info would be useful.

.
the poly were much more precise and less mushy.
it just "clicks" in and out of gear and it's so short and tight when you begin to move the shifter it almost "toggles" into gear.

Default Does the AntiVenom Mod work for the B&M shifter???

I've heard the AniVenom Mod works for the Hurst shifter. What about the B&M?? Anyone out there know?? Something about using two 13/16 copper washers on the bolt?

Had mine in for 2 years now and love it. It loosen's up a little after a while. also I changed my Tranny fluid to Royal Purple Syncro max and I think that helped make it shift a little easier.

The AntiVenom mod is not specific to any shifter: Hurst, B&M, etc. as the washers go on to the detent bolt of the transmission.

However, if someone has actually performed the antivenom mod, I would be interested as well as to the feedback as whether it did or did not improve the smoothness of the shifts.

Love the B&M...the short throw...the notchiness. No problems getting it into any gear. It's all good.
