Default Installing B&B Bullets

I just had a set of bullets installed on my 03 Z06, what a pain, they did not line up right and the muffler shop had to cut on side and reweld to get them to line up [which they still don't].
The muffler shop does alot of custom work and alot of corvettes. I stood there as they showed and explained to me it appears they were jigged sloppy. I ended up having them do the best they could and it still looks like they stick out alittle too far. I would have sent them back but I waited so long to get them and really don't have the time to have them removed and shipped back.
Does anyone know of this happening to others?
On the plus side I do love the sound, a little loud but hey its mine and a weekend driver but I would not plan a long trip in it with them on.

The Bullet exhaust tips stick out a little further than stock, that's the way they're designed...

Don't have a set of the bullets, but my Route 66 fit just fine. Call up B&B and complain. See if they can help you out.

I just installed 4 tip bullets this morning. I dont mind them sticking out further from stock, but one sticks out 1" further on drivers side!

Drivers side is an inch too long outward and the pipe needs be cut to line it up even with the passenger side tip edges (or the passenger side pipe is too little and needs to come out an inch). The is no other way to make it fit correctly cept to cut the pipe and take an inch out or add an inch on the other side. Better have a large rubber mallet handy and a good muffler shop guy that can cut/bend the pipe here and there.

There was also a dime sized dent on the top of one tip (it missed the edge and got right behind it). There is no damage to the box or bubble wrap the tips were enclosed in so they got drop shipped to me from B&B plant that way by a blind man in their quality control department.

My opinion on sound: Im actually surprised they arent louder from most of the posts about them ive read. My wife and I dont think they are loud at all unless 3/4+ throttle.

The drone is persistant between 2300-2700 but im very rarely in that rpm driving on freeway/surface streets in any gear anyway at a cruising mph so its no big deal.

I installed the Kooks 1 7/8 inch header to the 3x3 off road pipe and the B&B bullets and the exhaust note was so loud plus the drone I took them off and put back on the orginal Z06 mufflers on. I want a little louder exhaust note but not so loud I cant hear myself think in the car. What other cat-back system is a good fit for me?????
Thanks for the help all.

My PRT's didn't line up properly and after spending several hours trying to get them aligned, I ended up sending B&B an e-mail. They sent me a new system and paid for the shipping on the old ones. I now have the Bullets on my car and as others have mentioned, they do stick out further than the stock tips.

Update:

I emailed Billy Boat with pictures and text of my fit problem on Sunday and I was emailed back to call them right away on Monday. They offered to send me a new system right away no questions, but he did tell me to go out and try the side adjustments again pulling the drivers side in and the passenger side out to bring tip ends in alignment side to side. Gave that a shot this morning for a while and the problem with trying that is the pipe hangers are at the very edges of the rubber mounts and will not move enough either way to make a difference plus the drivers tips are a little angled off to the left and pipe needs to be heated and bent just a tad to correct.

So even with their offer of sending a new set out to me its easier to throw it up on the rack and do a little custom work with the torch and bender to get it exact with what I have. I will however have to get a tip replaced for the dented one which they said no problem.

So with my experience this morning their customer service was excellent to say the least..

My B&B PRT Speedways fit in good. Only thing I hate are the crappy clamps they provide. I went with an old school clamp on one side because one got stripped. That side never has moved but the other side constantly moves. I gotta get under it someday and put a normal clamp on.

So did ya just leave it or go to a muffler shop and get it fixed?

The clamps with mine are heavy duty and do not move or loosen up.

Mine look exactly like yours. It seems like the drivers side mandrel bend was a few degrees short. I bought my car used with them already on them, I doubt I will have the same luck with B&B though.

Mine had to be yanked on, to line up, but my muffler guy doing the job was the owner, and he knew what he was doing to line them up...
