clay bar, with a little bit of car wash as lubricant. if that doesn't work, try a few drops of dawn with the clay bar. but you will most likely have to reapply your polish/sealant/wax.

I would wash the car with hot water first. You could take a towel soaked in hot water and lay it on the bad spots. Should melt the goo and come right off with a followup wash with one of the car washing detergents.
I made the mistake of parking under a sappy tree in my other car. A clay bar and lubricant did the trick, but it took a VERY long time to get all of the sap off. It felt like I had tennis elbow afterwards, too!

you're not crazy for suggesting that. i've heard that one also.
hot hot water might loosen it. 3m general purpose adhesive cleaner would do the trick. tarminator should help a bit and lastly...clay bar.
