After tooling around in a piece of crap car for the longest time I decided that I needed to drive a cool car every day. The vette is only for cruising and nice weather so I figured that she was lonely and needed something new and hot. Picked up a new 07 VW GTI on saturday, and am thouroughly impressed. The interior and exterior quality of this thing is awesome for the price. Not to mention that the little 2.0 T gives me a thrill every time I give it a workout...Attached are some pics of the new girl and some of the C5...let me know what you guys think....Dan
18'' wheels, styling kit, 4 coats of zaino, and a light tint...ready for the street
Cool car. I would have bought a Mazdaspeed 3 if I were shopping in that catagory though. Not to take away anything from the GTI, it is more upscale than the 3, just not as fast. Enjoy it.
Nice GTI, you get the paddle shifter option? I'd love one of those if they weren't so expensive new.
No paddle shifting...I have heard great things about the Vw Tiptronic but feel that it takes away from the enjoyment of the car in my opinion. The 6 speed is just fine for me...On the note of cost...I graduate college in 2 weeks, 22 years old, and dont make a whole lot of money..Youd be suprised at how cheap you can get one a month...Dan
So now you have a DD that is worth more than your vette? Doesn't make much sense to me, but whatever makes you happy.
The GTI is a good car for the money.
Considering that the vette is 7 years older that the gti, it is not hard to believe that it is worth less...in fact most cars, trucks, and suvs are worth more than most of our C5's in dollar figures. The C5 has sentimental value for me, I could care less about how much a dealership thinks its worth. I love driving, cleaning and talking about my C5...it still turns heads. I just figured that since I only get the chance to drive it a few times a month that I should get something to enjoy driving everyday...It takes nothing away from the enjoyment of owning a corvette...Dan
