Tonight I went up to the Texaco to adjust the air pressure in my tires. On the way out I get on it a little and when I hit second the back end came around unexpectedly.
The strange thing was that no matter how much I corrected and braked I couldn't stop the car. I actually went around backwards (360) and ended up sliding into a ditch :cry
As soon as I opened the door a woman came up, asked me if I was OK and wanted to know if I saw the oil in the road.
So I get out and the car doesnt look that bad. The cops come and block off traffic while this woman is trying to overt traffic from hitting this oil spill.
It turns out that the Eclipse blew something and dropped all his oil in the street which explains the loss of control and inability to recover.
After 2 hours I finally get the car out and it looks like the only damage is to one of the exhaust tips which is bent downwards.
So, my question is, how easy is it to bend the tip back up into normal position on a Ti exhaust? It is only bent about 20 degrees down from normal.
Re: Had an encounter with a Misu Eclipse (Silver Z06)
glad to hear you are ok. if you cant get it fixed you could get a set of used titanium mufflers from the parts section or it could give you a reason to buy aftermarket???
