Very common. I brought the right/top corner closer to the dash by adding some thickness to the panel's right top tab.
This tab was apparently intended to "pull" the panel toward the dash, as it has a beveled top surface that engages the back side of the top edge of the dash opening. Unfortunately, it looks like the panel mold dimensions are "off," as there's not enough engagement with the dash. I glued/zip-tied a few additional layers of thin cardboard to the tab, effectively making the top surface of the tab "thicker." This increased the engagement of the tab with the edge of the dash, i.e., makes the tab contact the dash top edge before the panel can back away from the dash far enough to open up the gap on the right side.
