Default First oil change

It is almost time for me to change the oil in my 03 Z for the first time, but not my first oil change ever. It has Mobil 1 in it now, which is also the brand that my brother uses for his 02 SS camaro. But I have heard several ads, such as on Horsepower TV, for Royal Purple oil. Anyone have any advice or experience with these two as far as which one is best.

IMO stick with Mobil-1.

It's cheap at Wal-mart, and you're not going to do anything bad to your engine by using it.

Personally, I stick with Mobil 1. But any of the synthetics should be good, as long as you stick to 5W30 and it meets the same standards for sythetics as Mobil 1. Check your owner's manual for information.

I like Mobil 1 myself. 5w30 or 10w30 per the manual. I believe some members prefer the Royal Purple stuff or Amsoil. Being the simpleton that I am, I have stuck with Mobil1 for all my vehicles.
