Default Question on Intake Covers

Recently I bought a nice carbon fiber intake cover. Looks great, but doesn't fit with my stock fuel rail covers (which are custom airbrushed).

I contacted the vendor and they sent another set. Just got them last week, but they aren't fitting either. Basically, the frc's hit the intake cover where the intake cover bolts on.

Here's a picture of the full engine with the covers just laying in place. That's what I did for the spring car show season. If you look close, you can see that my oil filler cap isn't twisted down. That's because I can't get the frc's snapped into place.

Because they are custom painted I don't want to just cut off the pieces on the frc that are hitting the carbon. Has anyone else had this problem? I can't be the only one.

Zilla,
I just looked at the custom carbon website. How does that cover stay down? It doesn't look like it attaches to the fuel rail line mounting bolts.

Mine is a two piece design that attaches with the fuel rail line mounting bolts.

It is very odd. Basically, the fingers on the frc's that go between the intake runners are hitting the mounting flanges. (Hopefully I didn't get all the terms wrong, but I think the meaning is clear.)

It fits fine, except where it contacts the mounting flanges on the carbon -- and it hits all 4.

How tight is the fitment on you guys covers and the intake? Is there a gap between the two?
