Default Intake Recommendations!?!?!

Ok, I am thinking about my next mod and am looking for some thoughts from everyone on this. I know everyone has an opinion on intakes, so just to complicate things let me explain my thought process. I already have a carbon fiber high flow airbridge that looks fancy and claims a gain of 8 to 10 HP, and I have a K&N air filter.

I like the looks of the air bridge (not to mention they cost $250+) and would like to keep it. That limits my options to basically a Blackwing or MTI Ram Air. Any thoughts/experience on either of these?

I will also accept persuasive arguments to get over the carbon fiber air bridge and go with a Halltech Stinger (which is basically like adding the Blackwing to my air bridge), Callaway Honker, or Vararam B2.

Thanks in advance for the input.

You should also consider whether you want to cut your radiator shrowd or not. I didn't and stuck with a Blackwing (although you can buy a cover and cut for it too). Other than that, sell the air bridge and buy a Honker... or that's what I would do anyway.

We have been very successful with the VR on the C5's.

on my 1st z06, i had the wcc hurricane intake, you may want to look into that. car ran extremely well and made 372rwhp & 364rwtq with ONLY that mod. Now that being said, on my current Z i do have the honker.....honestly, i think the hurricane and bridge are as effective as the honker....so in your case i would just buy a hurricane and keep your bridge.

If I could do it again, I go with the Honker. Although, with just the Stinger SSM and dyno tune, my car mahe 379/368 SAE.

I like the hurricane, thanks SABLKZ06. Don't know if I want to spring for the carbon fiber at $200 more, but it sure looks good. Someone also mentioned the Vortex Rammer to me, but I am really leaning towards the hurricane. It looks like it completely replaces the shroud, so no cutting and easy install.

You achieved these numbers without a tune?

I am very happy with my vararam 2B. had it installed by vette docs and the thing fits like a glove. Not sure why others have complained about fitment problems. I asked them about it and they showed me how it fit's perfectly. I think it depends on who installs it. I have also seen plenty of real world before and after track results to know it works when installed properly.
