Default Fob panic button

Any way to disable the panic button. Hate it when I reach in pocket and set it off. What wire do I cut ?

Why don't you just try trimming your fingernails... I've never had this problem and I wear fairly snug jeans most of the time. I don't understand why you're having this problem. Why ruin the key fob?

I love the panic button. I will be sitting in a fast food place and watch some kid walk up and look at my car and get to close for my liking and then I'll hit the panic button

I did this on my 03 Tahoe, got th link at the bottom for the doc with pics, super easy and worthwhile mod

FOB ‘UN-Panic’ Button Mod
This mod will disable the Red Panic button to avoid inadvertently setting of the factory
panic horn alarm. Unfortunately, the button is not sufficiently recessed and is prone to
such episodes at the worst possible time. This quick, easy and reversible mod will end all
that.
1. Pry open the FOB case near either of the upper corners. (See
Photo #1)
2. Split open case and separate both halves.
(See Photo #2)
3. Remove the key pad
and turn it over (See
Photo #3)
4. Peel the key pad from the
circuit board and put the
battery side down (See Photo
#4)
5. Place a small cut square of
electrical tape over the lower
left circuit pad that is situated
under the panic button when
assembled (See Photo #5)
6. Reassemble FOB in reverse order. If you ever need to restore operation, simply
remove the tape, wipe the circuit pad with some alcohol to remove the stick residue
(important so it does NOT stick) and reassemble.

Default Never had this problem?

Never? I have and I have a buddy that it happens to so often, he taped cardboard over the button on the outside to keep it from happening. You don't even have to put your hands in your pockets, you can set it off sometimes by just squatting down while adding air to the tires or any other chore that requires bending over or squatting down, I would guess the keys or change push the button. I've been around the corner of a house and hear mine going off. I don't think I've ever had a vehicle with a FOB that I didn't manage to set the alarm off on by accident once or twice. Do you carry your keys in a pocket? I bought a FOB protector and that has seemed to help a bit. Really, never? Oh well just shows I'm not very lucky.

I don't need to activate my panic alarm manually with the fob if someone gets too close. My Vettemods proximity sensor will set the alarm off if anyone gets too close to my car automatically. I found out the hard way one day when I started cleaning my windows on the outside and forgot that the car was locked.

As I have viewed these posts, I see several people have noted that they have not a had a problem with setting off the panic button. For me, it has definitely gone off on its own when I didn't want it to. What causes this? For me, I believe its that I put to much junk in my pocket... main key ring with 7 keys on it, FOB for the wife's car, and of course, FOB for corvette. I notice it will typically get set off if I drop something and reach down to pick it up.
