Stage 1 - Denial "Mods? My car is bone stock." Stage 2 - The door opens "I'm just gonna add these SS Inserts. That's not modding, it's a visual enhancement." Stage 3 - Hiding it "Just ignore that it says Corsa on the box hon. They couldn't find anything else to put it in and it's not expensive. You can still get your earings." Stage 4 - Admitting it "Hi, my name is Jim and I'm a modaholic." "Hi Jim!" Stage 5 - Denial "Mods? my car is bone stock."

Lather, rinse, repeat.
I guess I've moved onto Stage 2 because I just ordered a set of SS Inserts the other day.
hah! I had to promise my wife that there would be no mods in order to get her approval for my recent purchase. Now I spend nights searching all the vendor sights, I feel like I'm cheating on her.

It's a "chronic" infection that only gets worse with age (I'm 58 and NOT in College) My suggestion is marry for money, buy a house and remortgage immediately to finance more and bigger mods.
I know alot of people who have caught the mod bug.
My stepdad is the only person I know that hasn't done anything to his vette yet.
I've built my dream vette 10 different ways in a spreadsheet. Anywhere from a tt 346, N/a 383 (budget), 402 n/a and f/i (budget) tt 427, n/a 427
all the supporting mods for each level and even divided each one into stages trying to keep it under $5k /year.
I started out wanting to pay the car off before I started modding it, One of my first mods was the zip-tie mod, then I made my own exhaust plate, used the rear emblem off my trunk (counts as 2 mods right, shaved emblem) then I bought the GHL bullet exhaust and a halltech trap, then I noticed my rear diff was leaking so I ordered the parts to fix it and a DTE brace and hardened shaft while I'm back there.
I keep hearing this ticking noise (lifters I think) it is annoying me so I might build my 383 budget engine first along with a new tranny, some nice heads, fast 90/90 ahh it never stops.
