Out the other day and two C6's waved and so did a c3.Some wave some don't.I see the same C5 almost everyday and the owner doesn't wave or even look twice.Just know most other vettes wave.
Whats up with this wave thing. I have always ridden a Harley for 35+yrs and had a Corvette back in the 80's nobody waved then and believe me these were much more rare then. It seems I can't go out without this wave obligation unless I drive my old blazer.
Now there is a Harley on every street and Corvette every other, I don't want to be rude but give me a break. Maybe it is because where I live there is more of both all year long here in Kalifornia.
Got my old beat up C3 out of storage a few weeks ago, and was waiting @ a stop sign when down the road came a victory red C6 coupe...........got a nice big wave and returned the same!
Just depends on the individual............believe a lot of the C6 owners also were C3, C4 or C5 owners, so they know about the wave, or maybe just good old mid-western friendliness showing through.
...C6 owners ... get a superiority complex. What gives?
Just read the C6 General Forum. There are a lot of 'tudes on that forum and that is among themselves.
I read posts in the C6 GF from time to time and can't understand why they aren't more civil with each other.
I rarely get put off by anyone's posts here but over there it seems like I'm always raising my eyebrows at some of the attitude I get from some writers/owners.
Don't know why some don't...after all we're all part of the same family! I guess some owners just don't get it
When I first got my vette, i would see people wave at me and my first reaction was... "Who was that? I don't recognize them, they must think I'm somebody else..." And most times, since I didn't know about the wave, I would be past them before I realized they were waving at me.
It wasn't until I joined this forum that I learned about the wave and how important it is to some people......
So for those of you I forgot to wave to.... sorry.....
Who cares, some wave, some don't, there is more important thing to worry about besides not getting a wave from someone. plus just to let you know C5er's don't wave also
Plus this look like the on slot of many I didn't get a wave threads for the summer.
There is '59 here that I wave to all the time and they dont wave back.
Oh dear sweet Bejeebus, the beautiful wave threads are just blessing us every which way today. Thank you Jayzus............and you know what that means:
I'M A WAVER, THEY'RE A WAVER, WOULDN'T YOU LIKE TO BE A WAVER TOO?
Not all Corvette owners frequent enthusiast web sites, so it doesn't surprise me that they wouldn't know about the wave.
If it wasn't for Corvette Forum, heck, I'd surely not know about it.
However after noticing a few other Vette owners waving, I think I'd pick up on the drill.
I have extended my waving to also giving thumbs up or a nod to other high-performance cars V(ipers, Porches, M3's, etc.). Most of the time, it's returned.
When I was driving my vette(s) in England, I would always wave to any other American car, no matter what year or make the other car was and I always got a wave back.
For the most part though I usually get my wave returned here in LA, it's only the occasional driver that doesn't reciprocate.
