I just read a thread where someone asked for a VIN to be ran. I am not asking that so dont shoot me.
This is new to me. It appears that you can run a VIN and get the service history of the car? Is that correct?
I just bought a 99 with 97,000 miles. Supposedly everything was done at our local Chevy dealer. I called the dealer to find out what all has been done to the car and to see if I could get a list of all maintenance accomplished. Needless to say I didnt get it.
So is there a place I can get this INFO.
I have never purchased a carfax but I thought that just told you how many people owned the car and if it was in a wreck.
So after all of that. Where can I purchase the info on my car, using my VIN?
Thanks for the help and info.
I like to do the work myself but need to know what has allready been done. I got a hold of the previous owner and he told me Chevy did everything that was needed. period.
Yes, you can ask for a service history but you cannot ask for a car fax. There are a few members on here that can get you a service history. Spongevette is one of them.
I can give out that info as well, but all you can get is warranty service history, not maintenance service history. The only place that can provide that is the actual service department that did the work.
