Default Underdrive Pulley Advice?

Just wondering what affects have been noticed by adding aftermarket underdrive pulleys to a Z06. Ayone have any feelings? I don't plan on many mods, hurricane intake, eventually LG Pro LT headers and high flow cats. Are pulleys good to do with a tune or is the money better spent elsewhere? Also am curious about adverse affects (AC won't work well at idle, drains battery, etc.)? Thanks!

It's one of those "if you are already in there" jobs, do it. But don't tear the rack and front of the motor out JUST to do the pulley.

I put an SLP on my 01 (while in there fixing an oil leak). AC side of the pulley is same as stock, so no compressor reduction speed there. I get full volt at idle (stock rpm idle) and no cooling issues.

Whatever pulley you get, get one with a 3/16 keyway and pin it on the crank while you are in there.

So basically, unless you do the cam, really not worth the effort. I'll admit, I doubt I would do it myself anyway, but I doubt its worth $300 in labor to get it done for me.

I had an ASP underdrive pulley recently installed when I had my head and cam install done. I have definitely noticed a difference in that if I try to start my car with the AC on, it will die. Even when I've been driving for awhile and then come to a stop sign (with AC on) the RPMs will drop really low like it's going to die, but then kick back up at the last minute. I still have the stock battery so that might be part of the issue, I plan on getting it replaced next week.

Ditto...had it installed the same time the cam was going in. Close to three years now with no issues I'm aware of.

Get it tuned. It's not your underdrive pulley. Mine did the same thing.
