Default FOB training problem

With a 2001 Corvette I am having problems retraining the key FOBs

I have posted four times in the last month and know responses.

My problem is that I get all the way to when the dash says "FOB Training" and I cannot get any further. Pressing reset does nothing. Pressing Lock and unlock together on the FOB does nothing.

Does anyone have any ideas

Thank you
Desperate

Well, lets at least start the discussion going then. First, you are using the following method:

Fob programming
1-Turn the ignition to RUN
2-Turn the radio off
3-Press the RESET button in order to clear any IPC warning messages
4-Press the Option button on the DIC until the IPC display is blank in order to enter the program mode
5-Press and hold the Reset button for 3 seconds
6-Press the option button until FOB Training message is displayed
7-Press the Reset button in order to begin the programming sequence.
8-Simultaneously press and hold the lock an unlock buttons on the first transmitter for 12 seconds. The IPC will indicate when that transmitter is programmed and when to proceed to the next. Repeat this step for each transmitter.

and step 7 is where it stops on you?

I can't remember seeing this problem before, and all I can think of is maybe it is time to reboot the system by disconnecting the battery for a minute, but let's see if others come up with better ideas.

I don't remember the details of the original post. Is this a new fob or an old one?
Are you sure the battery is good on the fob?

The next thing that should happen (if I remeber correctly that is) is that the display should prompt you to press and hold lock and unlock on the 1st FOB - of it isn't doing that then it hasn't got to the point of trying to 'listen' for the FOB yet.

Exactly, That's what's happening .

the display reads "FOB training" i press the reset button and the display does not change.

I tested the FOB batteries and they are 3v.

Any ideas??

go through and pull the codes - let's see if we have a problem somewhere - this doesn't make sense to me, and I do not think your FOB battery is causing it - if it were then when you got to the message to press and hold the biuttons, that's where a FOB battery problem would show up, not before that step.

I have the same problem after matching the transmitter. Did you try to resynchronize the FOB? I found the the only way mine would work was to stand in front of the car not at the side and do the resync method in the OM, it said to hold both buttons for 7 seconds but I just held it until the horn chirped took about 20 to 30 seconds works fine now.
