Fitment question, all thoughts welcome!
This is to me. Has anyone ever had thier body panels actually change position on them?
I know every square inch of my car by heart from it's purchase 3 years ago. It seems like the hood on the passenger side is raising up from the fender; or the fender is lowering away from the hood. One or the other.
nothing else has changed the front edge of the hood seems the same, and the outer edges of the fender also seem the same. It is actually almost 3/8ths of an inch above the fender.
I've pushed and pulled on both and they seem solid.
This seems to be a gradual thing, up from only about 1/16" maybe a year ago.
Strange? or does this happen sometimes?; and how can I correct it, short of taking it to a body shop?
Ideas?
Have you by any chance added an after market air bridge? Some have experienced those to be taller than oem that it rubs the hood insulator and pushes up on the hood slightly. More than likely, it's just the normal loosening of metal/fiberglass over time.
Mine has the same "feature," at the same place (stock intake, so no interference issue). Seems to be somewhat temperature-dependent. Not sure there is any "cure."
My left front fender moved slightly outward at the bottom causing it to extend beyond the door. I loosened the bolt at the bottom, pushed it back and retightened. I still look at it everytime I walk by but it hasn't moved since.

No, no air bridge. Maybe I should put it on a lift just to make sure something is not coming undone!
Kind of scary when it keeps growing bigger!
My stock hood is slightly bulged up on the driver's side, right in the middle of the fender.
At the ends of the hood - at the cowl, and at the headlight door, it is flush with the fenders, so there's nothing to adjust to fix it. The hood is just bowing slightly. I can't hardly notice it looking at it from outside the car, but can easily be seen from the driver's seat.
I noticed this a couple years ago, and pointed it out to a friend with much bodyshop experience, he only suggested placing weight on that area while the car was stored over the winter, to maybe help it bow back down.
Don't know if this is the same thing you're seeing or not.

By temperature-dependent do you mean that that possibly the hood is actually warping because of engine heat?
I kind of thought that because the back of the hood by the windshield fits perfectly then it starts to rise as it reaches where the white reflection is (in the picture), while the front seems perfectly even.
I checked under there for anything it could be laying on, but nothing.
Can these panels actually warp over time?

I might just try that (even though I'm in florida) I could place something there whenever it is parked.
I don't think I've seen another thread like this one, thought I was alone in this!
