Have decided to install the LSD vertical doors and curious as to who would have the best price for the kit for a 2001 vert. Any help is appreciated. Also, I live in North Carolina and would like them installed by someone nearby who has done them before and knows what they are doing. Anybody know of someone in the Carolinas area? Thanks!
I picked mine up from G rides about 6 months ago. Paid $2150 including shipping. Very happy with the product, delivery and service. When I had a question Gary was very quick with a reply and a fix. He can be reached at garyking@gridesinc.com. Sorry can't help with the install-not my neck of the woods bro.
How much did you pay for the install, if you don't mind my asking? How long did it take start to finish? Any adjustments or problems after initial installation?
Here it is installed. The front lip on the door has been trimmed away.
In the open position
Looking forward. Notice the inner fender lip has been cut away.
Open...
and up.
Not a bad install at all. It is truly a bolt on kit. The doors and fenders do have to be removed, modified and reinstalled. The wiring harness has to be extended on each door. Did mine myself with the help of a friend. I would think anything over $1,000 for a shop to install would be high.

GBVette, what mod did you have to do with the wiring harness (was it a plug and play adapter or did you have to extend each wire by hand) and what wrap or tubing did you use to wrap that harness up? Can you show pics of that?

tstar-they all work, it's just that the LSD's are in my opinion both a more finished product and the fact that you don't have to line up the striker when closing. This was a major draw back when I looked at other doors. These come from Germany and must be crash tested for each vehicle they are made for. It's really a well thought out and well built unit.
Here's the secret on the LSD's. Notice the ball stud sticking out at the bottom edge of the door...
This ball stud sets in a nylon socket when the door is brought down and eliminates any up and down wooble that would cause striker misalignment. The door shuts everytime without any alignment problems like I've seen with other kits.
