I have a Magnuson supercharger installed in my 99, and lately, I've been hearing a high pitched squeak, or a whistle, when I accelerate. No, it's not the whine of the supercharger. This is different. It's tough to explain, but I can only hear the squeak/whistle upon acceleration...if I'm coasting or just maintaining speed, I don't hear it.
I have it too. It only happens under part throttle around 2100rpm. I believe its the air intake. It actually did it before I had the magnuson on.
Yeah, mine seems to be part throttle also...although it is tough hearing much of anything but the exhaust when I floor it, or even just accelerate quickly.
The Magnuson supercharger actually comes with its own air intake. So with you, that squeak actually occurred with two separate intakes? That's interesting.
I too have the Maggie, but don't have the squeak. I know that this blower puts hellacious loads on the pulleys. Mine was puking belts every day until I called Magnuson and they told me about an update that keeps the tensioner from deflecting away from the block and throwing the belt off. That worked fine until I ripped the idler pulley off along with the entire corner of the aluminum bracket that it's bolted to. I tig welded the crap out of that and have been fine for 1kmi so far. With all of the load the blower places on the pulleys, I would try to carefully spray some good penetrating lube on the pulleys ( 1 at a time ) to possibly isolate the problem. Spray the idler and go for a drive. If it goes away, there you go. If not, continue to the idler on the maggie, then the tensioner. You may also remove the belt and check for any play in the pulleys. Let us all know what you find.
Okay, I have an update on this. Coming home from work yesterday, I decided to make sure that the supercharger was still making the boost that it's supposed to. It should be at about 6 and 1/2 lbs. However, even when floor the accelerator, it's only making between 3 and 4 lbs. That means I've lost half of the boost that the charger is supposed to produce. Does that change this scenario at all?

I don't know much about Maggies but
1) do you have a blowoff valve? could it be leaking (and whistling)?
2) is it possible your rear drive belt is slipping?

I am at a distinct disadvantage because I'm not very mechanically inclined. I know the basics, but my debugging skills with automobiles definitely needs improvement. I've popped the hood and checked the hoses and they all SEEM to be connected just fine, although that doesn't mean there isn't a crack in one of them that I just can't find.
