I just got an 2003 Z06 from my pops and I was wondering what the best exhaust system( from the headers back) was.. I know that everybody's preference is different but I know next to nothing about this car.. the car I had before this was a 94 3000gt vr-4..any help would be greatly appreciated!!
Most people agree LG and American Racing are the best brands for LT headers. Also the most expensive. There are plenty of other really good brands as well. I also have a 2003 Z06 and at some point I plan to do headers, high flow cats (cant get rid of them in my area) and keep the stock mufflers. Replacing the mufflers will only get you louder, but almost no HP gain. Very few muffler's are lighter than the stock Ti's, so a few more HP might be canceled out by the added weight.
Thanks Guy...and I know this might sound dumb ..but what is the main difference between regular headers and long headers..and whats the advantage of an x pipe..thanks

Do a search and you'll find many discussions about headers. Bascially, shorty headers are good for power high in the RPM range, so if all you want to do is 1/4 mile drag race they might be OK. Long tubes have better low end torque, so better for all around use (IMHO) and track driving.
Xpipe is better than H pipe as it has better flow. The X, opposed to straight pipes, get's rid of resonance (sounds better). There are other benefits I'm sure, which you should uncover by doing a search on this forum. There's lots of good info.
