Money aside.... If every one who reads this had the ability to get rid of their c5 for a c6 would you do it? Imagine both cars were brand new which one would you go for.... I know every one might flame me, BUUTTT I have to say Id take the c6. I just wonder because I see all these people talking about other cars so I didnt know what you guys thought.
If I had not put a blower on my C5 I would be driving a C6 and when I am done modding I see a C6 as a DD, I like the ride better for a DD than my slammed boosted Vette
Money zero factor, both cars brand new, I'd take the C6. Sorry, everone, but it's got a better motor, far better headlights, better interior, more technology, built-in Nav, etc -- it's simply an improved car. The C5 looks *a little* better, but that woudn't be the deciding factor for me.
The only thing stops me buying a C6 is the cost better technology more power. I could afford one I have one in a heartbeat!
C5 even though it looks better is old tecnology now well relatively. Having said that my 97 Vette is still more advanced than most UK cars!
But then I suppose it would be it a supercar! and most people here drive Econieboxes! Boring!
C5 hands down. I've driven 2 C6's now, and I find that the increase in power is good, but the suspension seems to be lighter on the models I tested and the interior is so boring that it is lackluster. At least the instrument cluster they didnt do much changing to.
Biggest difference are the headlights - WAAAY better stock in the C6, but the look of the vehicle is downright (except the back-end IMO).
Oh ya, and 90% of the people out there don't have a clue if a C5 is the new corvette or not, since I've been asked 20 times in the last year if my car is brand new

As I'm running thru the replies and thinking what to write, rcs128 says it all. Exactly what I'm thinking.
I've spoken with three Corvette racers that had the same opinion.....the C5 is much more stabil at speed (the C6 gets twitchy >160mph). These thrree statements are why I ended up with my C5 as I could have had either.

That is a quite relevant reason, as most of us spend a large portion of the time cruising at over 160 MPH.
I'd take the C6 - when the prices go down, I'll trade up.

Maybe, just maybe mind you. . . if it was a 2007 or 2008 C6 Z06, "Then Maybe" !
And it would have to be a Z06, not a C6 ! In any event I would be
keeping my 1999 C5. . . . She ain't going nowhere

To me the only Generations of Corvette I'm interested in are C5 and C2. In comparison to the C6 cars in my club (or anywhere else for that matter) I would just as well stay in C5 Gen. C1s are interesting but lack the drivability and creature comforts of the C2 and C5. Early C3s are players but been there done that. I can appreciate ALL Corvettes, but you asked what I would own.
