Default Tint

I'm looking into getting my windows tinted and have a couple of questions....

1. - anyone in MD that can recomend a shop that does a good job? (I've heard that vettes are a little tricky with the rear windows)

2. - I'm definitely doing the rear window, and both doors, but what about the front? Should I get a strip accross the top of the windsheild? Has anyone else done this, or seen it - and how did it look?

3. - any particular brand that looks better, or is more durable than the other?

THANKS!!

UPDATE: I just got a quote from D&L here locally. $230 for their top of the line film. They also said that they do alot of vettes (the owner has one). they laser cut the rear so its one peice cut to fit, and they can ususally get it on without any issues with the dots on the back window. She siad if for some reason it wont adhere to the dots, for $40 more they will use a vinyl product to blank it out.

It makes me feel a little better that they seem to know alot about it, and the issues that come up - they also have a lifetime warranty so if it ever bubles, fades, rips, tears, etc they will replace for free.

Does this sound like a fair deal to you guys?

Thanks again!

Luminar is what all of the GM Dealers use. We dont ever see any tint come back.

I'd be interested in hearing what you decide on.

Isn't there an issue with the rear defroster wires bubbling the tint or can the tint take the heat?

I'm getting mine done tomorrow. They told me there wouldn't be any problem with the defroster wires in the back. I will let everyone know how things turn out.

I wouldn't recommend the vinyl black out strip. I had mine blacked out with a vinyl strip and it faded to a dark gray color in about 6 months.

Other than the fading, how did it look - how did you like it? Do you happen to have any pics?

I'm not too worried about the fading since the place that I'm thinking of taking it has a lifetime guarantee against fading, so if it fades, I'll just take it back to them and get them to replace it.

Thanks for the input though, and I'd love to see some pics of how it looks if you have any!

D&L does good work ive had a couple of my cars done there but I got my vette done by Vince's Autoglass in Edgewood he subs his tint work out so youll have to make an appointment but the guy he uses is good I am 100% happy with his work he also warranys his work as well but in my opinion tint warrantys are BS they sound good but dont let a warranty sell you... Best of luck
