A guy at work has a set of TPIS coated headers that he's selling for $300. I know they're not among the most popular brands, but at this price, should I consider getting them? I have a Corsa touring cat back system on now.

I had them on my Blower setup and they were decent and for the price they are a very good budget header, unless your are looking for the last couple of HP then go with these, the LG's, Kooks, and American Racing are all 1k or more depending on the setup. So unless you are building for 500+ rwhp nothing wrong with TPIS
Go for it! Much better than spending $1K for 30hp. I have them on my blower setup and I bought them for about the same price used. My tuner actually was able to eek out 30hp for me!
