I have a C5 with a factory Bose head unit. I am replacing my 99 Cassette unit with a CD head. But the CD head unit has a ding in the plastic screen that covers the display area. My cassette head screen is perfect, so I would like to swap the plastic covers.
See below, area outlined in RED
Anyone know how to remove the plastic screen that covers the display area ?
Hate to say it but it likely is melted into the molding on the inside. You will need to dissasemble both radios and possibly snap it off then glue it back on. IMO not worth the risk.

Perhaps, but what are the other options beyond replacing the entire front faceplate...........and where would I get that ?

In the center of the right side of the smoked display cover is a 1/4" or so notch in the smoked cover.
All that is needed is to slip a small flat blade under this notch and gently pry up the smoked display cover a bit at a time and work your way around the perimeter until she pops off.
Just held on by some adhesive or double faced clear tape.......hard to tell now. To replace, clean both surfaces and use a light, clear adhesive. I plan to use silicone sealant in a VERY thin line.
