I will never buy one again. For $100 more you can get HP Tuners and have way more flexibility than any handheld tuner. As for results from an handheld, I got no real improvements either. Waste of money. Either buy the software and learn through trial and error or get a professional tune for the same price.
I have the predator, smoothed the ride out, no major feel in power gain. But it runs/idles smoother. HP Tuners is good if you want to play around with everything, for those of us that just want to plug a tuner in a get a little more out of it, the handhelds are a better option. I also bought mine so I can read codes on my avalanche.
I have the superchips tuner and have used it on 2 cars. 01 z and my current ride 03 z. I could definately feel the difference. More torque most noticable when pulling away in third from slow speed. 01 dynoed 358 rwhp with superchips tuner and vararam.
I downloaded performance tune from predator and my gas milage is up and I feel some extra hop to hard throttle. Not very expensive and easy to use.Can always download hotter tune if you want.Predator can be uploaded with hotter tune through web.My car is not very modified as I live in Calif.land of smog tests and rules
I have a few questions, when i bought my z it came with a predator. What all can i really do with this? If i purchase a aftermarket intake system which some people say you also have to the car afterwards, can i use the handheld to tune it? And what is cags? Thanks
